2015: generally exceptional …
Staying with the precedent set for 2013 and continued for 2014 here are my reflections of 2015. In many respects it’s been an exceptional year and although there has been some sadness there hasn’t been the uptick that you might have expected as my friends, colleagues and relations all get older.

Damn! I love Indonesia
We were invited to a wedding, Sat 12 Dec 15. It was Juni’s cousin’s son whom we knew quite well so we had a mind to go. Problem was it was in Surabaya, East Java. Rather a long way to go just for a family event. So we decided to make a holiday of it.

Big trip to Oz: March 2015
Last month we were in Australia. It wasn’t a big trip by some people’s standards but it was 3 weeks, we haven’t had a 3 week holiday for ages, and it was Australia which is a long way away. We went to see number 1 son who’s a police officer in Fremantle.

It’s been raining overnight and it’s an overcast sky but I’m sat in First Class on the 0745 Cambridge to King’s Cross.

Est Bar or n’est pas bar?
Readers of my blogs will know that I’m a creature of habit. And that I’ve been a business traveller for most of my life and I’ve evolved a set of habits which minimise the stress that goes with it.

Indio Feliz, Aquas Calientes; 19 Nov 13
Been there, taken the photographs, got the T-shirt and according to that criterion Peru is a multi T-shirt country.

Orchid, Cambridge; 29 Aug 13
There was a knock on the kitchen window at 0625. Good friend Tony Halls (owner of Anthony’s, the excellent menswear shop on Trinity Street) was picking me up and we were off on a gentlemen’s day out. Of sorts.
