A bit more timely this one and it seemed for most of the month that this would have been one of my photos from Bruges (click here for that album) but at the last minute it had to be Alex and Amelia just after Christmas. In addition to it being a technically good photo I also reckon it’s got a positive look about it which is what we need as we go into 2017.
And for those who are interested this was taken with my Sony SLT-A58 1/80th at f2.
Note it’s what they now call a ‘fast lens’ in the trade. It’s a Sony f1.8 50mm lens which I now use for indoor portraiture and restaurant shots. I remember when I first bough an SLR that f1.7 lenses were quite normal and 1.4 and 1.2 were also available (at a price).
