I’ve been to Sicily again
I’ve been to Sicily four times now. Twice recently on tours with the most recent being just last month. The other two visits were more in the past and I’ll come back to them later.

Tour guides I have loved and not …
We’ve only been taking package tours since about 1998 when we went with Travel Editions to Hidden Italy. We were based in Ravenna and I seem to remember it was early in the year and that the weather was not great.

Five significant holidays
We’re off on holiday shortly and it’s going to be a big one. I’ve got myself a significant birthday so we’re off to Australia (again) via Hong Kong for the best part of 4 weeks with time in Melbourne and Adelaide before taking the train to Perth and a couple of weeks in WA.

5 places I haven’t visited yet
The waitress in the restaurant the other night asked me where I was from. I suggested she told me first which she did. She was from Bulgaria. In addition to waiting on tables she was also studying psychology at Glasgow U but that’s not the point of this blog.

Oops this is a bit late. Not sure why, no good reasons. This is Ragussa in Sicily on our walk down to the old town on the last evening of our recent holiday. I took this with my Sony SLT-A58 1/30th at f4. No post-processing.

5 memorable railway journeys
It seems like a truism that everybody likes trains. Maybe not commuter type trains but long distance ones that take you on a journey. For some reason people don’t really like buses; maybe it’s because buses get stuck in traffic.
