Not my usual genre but it was an opportunity not to be missed. Cambridge City was opening its new ground with a friendly against Cambridge United and I got the opportunity to go pitch-side. ‘Wear a high-viz’ they said.
It was quite an experience so with my camera on burst mode I took a fair few photos. It was a matter of doing my best to follow the ball in situations where it might be interesting!
This is one of my photos from the afternoon and was taken was taken with my Sony A7 III 1/1600th at f5.6 and ISO 1250 and 200mm on the zoom.
The experts will note that f5.6 is too narrow an aperture to blur the background sufficiently so I’ve compensated with a little post processing. The main action however is nicely sharp and I’m rather pleased with the result.
