Photo of the month: March 2025

This one goes right back to the start of the month and is another example of what the Japanese call ichi-go ichi-e or seize the moment (because once it’s gone it’s gone).

I was walking home after the St David’s Day dinner at Trinity College and just before me was this shot. It was a phone shot and quickly taken with my Samsung Galaxy s20 FE, 1/7th at f1.8 and ISO 1250. Rather surprisingly there’s minimal camera shake.

In post I’ve taken all the colour out except for orange to give it a sepia toned look. I think it works.
