Photo of the Month: March 2024

I was in Cambridge with my DSLR for a specific purpose and that was not to engage in street photography. However when the opportunity arises you’ve got to take it and a phone is an easier device to use in such circumstances. In this instance I suspect it was as much street performance as street photography, it’s a good example of Japanese street fashion, in which case the full DSLR might have been acceptable.

The photo was taken with my Samsung Galaxy s20 FE 1/100th at f2.4 ISO 50 and a ’35mm focal length equivalent’ of 76mm. It looks OK on the screen but if you zoom in you’ll see the defficiencies of a phone shot.
