Life’s too short to drink instant coffee

A picture for every year: 1992 to 2006

More choices now as my photo collection becomes more comprehensive and the appearance, in 2004, of my first digital camera.

1992 (top left) we were still in Switzerland and following Clare to her football matches. This is me and Charles at one of the two Swiss finals her team reached and won. 1993 we moved to the UK and this is is the four of us on the log flume at Alton Towers. Charles is hiding behind me! Then we enjoyed a short break in Berlin (but could be anywhere) and a week in Madeira. Finally for the top row I get a photo taken for my first election (I lost by five votes after two recounts).

I moved to Linx in 1996 and that was a job which took me around the world; centre left is me with Tercio Cristiani of Linx’ Brazilian distributor in Sao Paulo. We also enjoyed some great holidays including San Francisco and Malaysia. Fourth in the row is me in my office, notice the card index behind with all the business cars which I’d be collecting.

The last photo on the centre row is of most of the people from our estate in Histon on a night out at the Trinity Foot which sadly is no more. L to R Jan and Stan Wolford, Juni and me, Mac, Brian and Gill, and Guy and Sarah. Stan and Mac have sadly died. Guy and Sarah are still neighbours.

Bottom left is Juni and I on Safari in 2002. Then it’s me speaking at Macsa’s end-of year meeting. In the centre is me with one of the managers from Macsa’s Russian distributor, Pilot. This would be the first digital photo in this series. Last but one is another political photo, but this time after I’d been elected as a county councillor, and finally it’s me after completing my leg in the Chariots of Fire relay in Cambridge.
