May 17: photo of the month

Another prompt posting this month. This is from Coimbra in Portugal. It’s Portugal’s premier university city so has some equivalence to Cambridge. Big difference is the enthusiasm of the students to embrace a ‘uniform’, note the student in the photo wearing a black suit, white shirt and a gown. She’s selling trinkets to raise money for something or another.

The photo is really made by the subject and her eyes. It was taken on my  Sony alpha 58 SLR. 70mm on the zoom and f5.6 at 1/125th. No post processing except for a fairly severe crop to exclude a little distraction in the foreground. The original photo was landscape.
